ICYMI: Abdul El-Sayed Joins Indivisible Candidate Forum As Only U.S. Senate Candidate
HASTINGS, MI – On Thursday, February 26, U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed joined the Barry County Indivisible Candidate Forum, standing as the only viable candidate in the race to accept the invitation and take questions from voters.
Earlier this month, Abdul was also the only Michigan Senate candidate who attended the IBEW Local 58 candidate forum. Whether to speak with union workers or grassroots organizers, Abdul shows up.
Abdul’s appearance at the forum marks his 23rd visit to the greater Grand Rapids region, showcasing his commitment to showing up consistently and engaging directly with communities across Michigan.
The greater Grand Rapids region is Michigan’s second-largest metro area and serves as a key economic hub in West Michigan. Home to working-class families, small businesses, and a diverse industrial base, the region represents a central part of the state’s economic engine and a critical constituency in the fight to lower costs and expand opportunity for every Michigander.
During the forum, Abdul highlighted his vision that has resonated with voters across both sides of the aisle and across every corner of the state: money out of politics, money in your pockets, and Medicare for All.
As the race continues, Abdul remains focused on building a broad, grassroots coalition rooted in communities across Michigan: rural, suburban, and urban alike.
