U.S. Senate Candidate Abdul El-Sayed Announces $1.8 Million Raised In Under Three Months
Over 22,000 donations from 17,000 individual donors. 8,000 Michigan miles traveled. Zero corporate PACs.
ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN – Today, U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed announced $1.8 million raised in the second quarter of 2025 in the 75 days since launching his campaign. Abdul received over 22,000 donations from 17,000 individual donors. 95% of donations received were under $100. He closed the quarter with $1.1 million cash-on-hand.
Of the candidates in the race who have announced their Q2 totals, Abdul hit the highest dollars-per-day rate, raising an average of more than $24,000 per day. He is the only candidate for the seat who has never taken a dime of corporate PAC money – and never will.
“Our movement is about the kind of folks who don’t have lobbyists or PACs,” said Abdul. “It’s why so many Michiganders contributed their time, their hard-earned dollars, their stories, or their support. Across the state, people are fired up for real change. That’s why I’ll stand up to Big Pharma to lower prescription drug prices, crack down on predatory lenders and cancel medical debt, and take on Citizens United to make our democracy work for us.”
Since campaign launch, Abdul has demonstrated an unmatched ground game, driving over 8,000 miles across Michigan and making stops in 27 cities and towns, from across the Upper Peninsula to the heart of Wayne County. Along the way, over 1,700 people have signed up to get involved with the campaign. In the next two weeks alone, Abdul will host events in seven additional cities as he continues to build grassroots support in every region of the state.
With early fundraising and organizing momentum, Abdul is building the broad coalition it takes to win – both the primary and the general election.
“When you fight for people, you don’t need corporate PACs,” said Abdul. “We’re showing up in every corner of the state to listen to folks the career politicians have ignored for too long. From Sault Ste. Marie to Benton Harbor, we’re building a movement of working people – and we’re just getting started.”
