Senator Tina Smith Endorses Dr. Abdul El-Sayed for U.S. Senate

MICHIGAN –  Today, Senator Tina Smith endorsed Dr. Abdul El-Sayed for Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat. Serving the people of Minnesota, Sen. Smith is an effective legislator and champion of reproductive justice, indigenous rights, and climate action. She was a key advocate for climate and energy provisions added to the Inflation Reduction Act and has had over 70 bills and provisions signed into law. Before serving Minnesota as US Senator, Sen. Smith was vice president of Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, a community organizer, and was elected Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota in 2014. She has served as a U.S. Senator since 2018.
