Michigan Veterans Are Demanding An End To The Disastrous Iran War Which Mike Rogers Advocated For For Two Decades

MICHIGAN – As the cost of Donald Trump’s illegal war in Iran surpasses past $43.6 billion, Michiganders have had enough. Yesterday, a group of veterans gathered outside a gas station in Lansing to demand an end to this devastating war that has spiked our costs at the pump, the grocery store, and everywhere else.

This protest comes in the wake of a devastating report from CNN’s KFILE which detailed Mike Rogers’ long record of support for war with Iran. Protestors in Lansing did not appear to buy Rogers’ change of heart. 

• “I’m not really buying it at this point, it wasn’t too long ago that he was behind everything, as far as in the war,” said Kimberly Bogan, an emergency room nurse from Holt. “Every day I see people coming in, and I see exactly what every bit of policy that we legislate, and the effects of this war are having on people.”

• “I served 28 years in the military. It makes me sick to see what they’re doing,” said Jack, a retired veteran. “I’d like to say [Rogers] finally got some courage, but I think they just realized which way the wind was blowing… It just affects every aspect of our life, every nook and cranny, and people gotta realize that we need more empathy. Just because it doesn’t affect me, doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be concerned.”

Michigan is sick of corrupt politicians who lie to their faces on the campaign trail, only to prioritize their corporate donors and billionaire buddies once they get into office. Mike Rogers has made a very profitable career off of doing just that, and Michigan has had enough.
