Dr. Abdul El-Sayed and Michiganders Dive Into Just How Much Trump’s Tariffs And War In Iran Are Costing Us
MICHIGAN – Today, U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed released a new video showcasing how expensive Trump’s tariffs and war in Iran have made everyday life in Michigan.
In the video, Abdul quizzes Michiganders on the price changes of household goods between this year and last year.
“Americans are paying way more for everyday goods that they have to buy at the grocery store,” said Dr. Abdul El-Sayed. “All because of this insane war that’s spiking the price of gas, spiking the price of diesel, spiking the price of shipping, spiking the price of your everyday goods.”

This video comes after a new report shows Michiganders are paying an average of $5619 per household from Trump’s tariffs—the highest in the entire country—and on the heels of Trump’s latest trade war with Canada.
Abdul’s opponent, Mike Rogers, is still ducking questions about Trump’s war and tariffs.
- Rogers has championed Trump’s reckless tariffs, which he has called “masterful” and “an absolute win.”
- Yet… Mike Rogers continues to be silent over Trump’s trade war with Canada, declining to comment to NBC News, ABC News, POLITICO, Michigan Advance, and Semafor.
- Rogers has repeatedly dismissed Michiganders’ concerns about tariff price hikes. In response to concerns about tariffs spiking the cost of groceries, Rogers said “Oh my gosh, coffee went up. You know, horror.” In response to concerns about how tariffs were spiking costs for Michigan families and businesses Rogers said “the shoe is going to pinch every once in a while.”
