New Ad: “Electronica” Lays Out Dr. Abdul El-Sayed’s Plan To Protect Michiganders From AI
Dr. Abdul El-Sayed: “Big AI is spending big against me, because I’m for taking them on.”
MICHIGAN – Today, the Abdul for Senate campaign released “Electronica,” a new digital ad highlighting Dr. Abdul El-Sayed’s plan to take the AI industry on and ensure that the emerging technology serves the interests of Michiganders, not corporations and billionaires.
Abdul: “When the big corporations write their own rules, we all lose.”
Michiganders know all too well what happens when career politicians like Mike Rogers let corporations write their own rules. NAFTA, the disastrous trade policy which Mike Rogers supported, bankrupted Michigan communities and sent our manufacturing jobs overseas. Now, unregulated AI expansion threatens to do the exact same thing.
Abdul is the only candidate in this race that has introduced a comprehensive plan to bring AI Under Control and ensure that Michiganders never have to face the hardships brought on by catastrophic policies like NAFTA ever again.
Abdul’s plan will:
Pause frontier AI and completely ban recursive self-improvement.
Create an AI kill switch to protect Americans from dangerous AI systems gone rogue.
Establish public ownership of frontier AI labs and implement strict AI No-Gos, including a ban on autonomous weapons and warrantless surveillance.
Create a Cabinet-level independent AI watchdog agency.
Establish severe criminal penalties for corporations and individuals abusing AI for malicious purposes.
While Abdul has a plan to fight back against the AI tech giants, Mike Rogers stands to profit off of unregulated AI expansion and recently dismissed Michiganders’ concerns about AI as “fearmongering.”
Mike Rogers holds up to millions of dollars in AI-related investments and companies that stand to profit off of data center expansion.
When asked about data centers, Mike Rogers stated that “the choice is simple: lead the charge or fall behind,” and pushed to fast-track their permitting.
Mike Rogers suggested that AI. should determine eligibility for Social Security
Given Mike Rogers’ shameful support of NAFTA and copious investments in AI related industries, Michiganders cannot afford to trust him on an issue as critical as this. Because, at the end of the day, Mike Rogers will always side with his corporate donors over the Michiganders he claims to represent.

Mike Rogers: I think, in the long run, NAFTA is gonna be good for America.
Abdul El-Sayed: They’ve said it before, and they’re doing it again.
Slick talkers from the coasts dismissing workers.
When the big corporations write their own rules, we all lose.
Big AI is spending big against me, because I’m for taking them on.
It’s time for new rules.
Against data centers raising costs, guardrails on AI to protect our kids and jobs.
Real protections.
I’m Abdul El-Sayed, the only candidate for Senate taking on AI, and I approve this message.
AI is out of control, so let’s cool it down.
