“You Cheerled This War From The Beginning” — Abdul El-Sayed Slams Mike Rogers’ Flip-Flop on Canada Trade War

Rogers For Months: Tariffs are “Necessary,” “Masterful,” and “an Absolute Win.”

Rogers Today: “End the Tariff War Now.”

Dr. Abdul El-Sayed: “Must have had one too many of those LaBatts, Mike. You cheerled this tariff war from the beginning.”

MICHIGAN –  Today, Mike Rogers is lying about his support for one of his signature policies. Just as he lied about his support for the Iran War, which he declared a “win-win-win” before attempting to backtrack as Michiganders strain under extreme costs, Rogers is now whistling a different tune on the tariff war.

After months of promoting Donald Trump’s needless tariffs as “necessary,” “masterful,” and “an absolute win,” Rogers released an ad today calling for an end to the tariffs he has long championed.

“Must have had one too many of those LaBatts, Mike,” said Abdul. “You cheerled this tariff war from the beginning and you’re flip-flopping now because your poll numbers are in free fall. Donald is the reason we’re in a trade war. And he’s the reason you’re running. Not a serious person.”

REMINDER:

  • Mike Rogers has supported Donald Trump’s tariffs from the beginning, saying America is “winning again!”
  • Rogers dismissed concerns about tariff-related price hikes, telling Michiganders “the shoe is going to pinch every once in a while.”
  • A recent New York Times / Siena poll found that nearly 70% of Michigan voters disapprove of the trade war with Canada.
