Abdul El-Sayed Announces “We Can Do Better Tour” to Hear From Voters that Swung from Biden to Trump

MICHIGAN – Today, U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed announced his “We Can Do Better” listening tour, spanning five different counties. At a moment when so many Michiganders feel abandoned by both political parties, Abdul is taking his campaign directly to the communities where frustration with the status quo translated into lost Democratic support in the 2024 election.

The tour will include stops in the cities of Allen Park, Dearborn Heights, and Clinton Township, and the counties of Muskegon, Saginaw, Genesee. Each of these areas saw a large swing from supporting Joe Biden in 2020 to Donald Trump in 2024. And while all these areas flipped from Biden to Trump, they represent different perspectives, demographics, and communities.

As political elites debate what went wrong in 2024, Abdul is going directly to the people to ask: what do you really need from Washington?  Rather than a standard Q&A town hall format, each stop of the “We Can Do Better Tour” will be a conversation facilitated by Abdul, who will open the floor to voters in swing communities to voice their frustrations, needs and concerns

“It shouldn’t be this hard,” said Abdul El-Sayed. “People are paying too much for gas, groceries, rent, and healthcare. Instead of asking why people are fed up, too many politicians on both sides of the aisle are hellbent on protecting a broken system, rather than taking on the corporations and special interests that have made life so hard. I’m interested in hearing and learning from the folks the establishment has left behind. We can and must do better.”
