Dr. Abdul El-Sayed Statement on San Diego Mosque Shooting

MICHIGAN – After news of a shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego, U.S. Senate Candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed released the following statement:

“I have prayed at the Islamic Center of San Diego. Like me, the Muslim-Americans who were targeted today pray for peace, for the future of their kids, for a better tomorrow. That’s what we all hope and pray for.

“I am horrified by the shooting there today. But I’m not shocked or surprised. When politicians directly target Muslim-Americans, when the media fails to check them, this is the result. My prayers go out to the families of the victims.

“All people deserve to worship and gather in peace, free from fear and hatred. Islamophobia, bigotry, and hate of all kinds have no place here.”
