New Poll Shows Abdul as Best Choice for General Election in 2026

MICHIGAN – Today, a new Mitchell-MIRS poll was released that shows Abdul is the best choice to beat Mike Rogers in 2026. According to the poll:

  • Abdul trails Rogers by just one point – the narrowest gap of the three candidates polled in a head-to-head against Mike Rogers and within the margin of error.
  • Abdul wins over a plurality of independents, with 40% choosing him over Rogers’ 32%.
  • Last November, the same pollster showed a three-point gap between Abdul and Rogers – a clear indicator that Abdul is gaining ground in a critical battleground race.

This comes after the same pollster just released numbers showing Abdul up 10 points against his fellow primary candidates, as well as winning over 80% of voters 18-44 and leading with women.

“DC and the establishment have tried to tell us that a campaign like ours can’t win in Michigan. This poll proves the opposite,” said Abdul. “The more we get our message out–money out of politics, money in people’s pockets, and Medicare for All–the more momentum we gain. Leading with our values first has gotten us this far, and we’re going to keep working relentlessly to show folks that a better Michigan is possible. I’m humbled by the support we’ve gained thus far.”

Abdul has recently earned endorsements from National Nurses United, IATSE Local 26, Common Defense, Our Revolution, two local Indivisible chapters, and over 150 federal, state, and local elected officials, including Senator Bernie Sanders, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Wayne County Executive Warren Evans, community leaders, and advocacy groups.
