End Citizens United Endorses Dr. Abdul El-Sayed for U.S. Senate in Michigan

MICHIGAN – Today, End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, announced their endorsement of Dr. Abdul El-Sayed for Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat. Abdul was an early participant in ECU’s Unrig Washington program for candidates who reject corporate PAC money, support a ban on congressional stock trading, and work to end dark money in politics. 

“Voters are hungry for change because Washington isn’t working for them,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “Abdul El-Sayed is earning voters’ trust because he understands that. He’s calling out the corruption and rot in government, and he’s backing it up by refusing to take corporate PAC money. His call for reform is resonating with voters who are fed up with the status quo in Washington and ready for change. We’re thrilled to endorse him,”

While Abdul’s opponents continue to benefit from record-breaking millions in outside spending by Super PACs and dark money groups, Abdul remains the only candidate in the race who not only refuses corporate PAC money, but makes getting money out of politics a central campaign issue and is committed to cracking down on government corruption.

End Citizens United joins a broad coalition of organizations, labor unions, advocacy groups, and elected leaders backing Abdul, including the UAW, Indivisible, the Working Families Party, National Nurses United, and more than 200 elected officials, advocacy groups, and labor unions.
