NEW AD: Abdul El-Sayed Fires Back at Historic Levels of Dark Money Spending Against Him
Senator Bernie Sanders, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and working people across MI refute billionaire backed smear campaign
MICHIGAN – Dr. Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign today released a new 30-second ad, titled “Coda,” that highlights the exorbitant amount of money, totalling nearly $60 million to date, spent by AIPAC and special interests to spread misinformation and flood the airwaves with attacks and lies disparaging Abdul.
As billionaire-backed dark money groups continue their fight to buy Michigan’s next U.S. Senate seat, Abdul reminds viewers what is at stake in this election: the people of Michigan and their wallets, their health, and their futures. The ad comes on the heels of Abdul’s press conference with UAW, National Nurses United, and the local community to highlight the unprecedented spending in this race that shattered the previous record for outside spending in a Democratic primary, more than doubling the previous high.
“Billionaires can spend tens of millions of dollars flooding the airwaves with attacks and misinformation, but the power of their money will never overcome the power of the many,” said Campaign Spokesperson Roxie Richner. “Michigan is not for sale.”
