President Obama: “I’m asking you to support Abdul El-Sayed for the United States Senate. Abdul’s a doctor, and he’s taken on special interests to fight for good jobs, better healthcare, and lower costs.”

MICHIGAN – Today, the Abdul for Senate campaign is releasing a new ad with President Barack Obama expressing his support for Dr. Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign. President Obama will be traveling to Michigan for a Detroit rally with Dr. Abdul El-Sayed and Sec. Jocelyn Benson on October 24. Press interested can request credentials from the Michigan Democratic Party here.

As reported by Politico, President Obama recently addressed perceived concerns about Abdul’s candidacy at a fireside chat with Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester, saying: “I’m going to go to Michigan to campaign for Abdul El-Sayed. And people are like, ‘Well, he’s really left wing.’ But I don’t know, he’s for a higher minimum wage and health care for all, and it doesn’t seem crazy to me. You know, FDR was for that too.”

President Obama: 250 years ago, America was founded on a simple idea: this country belongs to all of us.

Not just the wealthy. Not just the well-connected. Everyone.

Today, that idea is under attack.

And Michigan is where we fight back.

That’s why I’m asking you to support Abdul El-Sayed for the United States Senate.

Abdul’s a doctor, and he’s taken on special interests to fight for good jobs, better healthcare, and lower costs.

Abdul has never taken corporate money.

He understands that healthcare is a human right,

And he thinks we should invest here instead of wasting money on endless wars.
