The Results Are In: Abdul El-Sayed Won The Debate

Post Debate Poll From WOOD TV Shows Voters Say Abdul Won Debate
MICHIGAN – Abdul El-Sayed dominated tonight’s U.S. Senate debate, putting Mike Rogers on the defensive over his corrupt Washington record, deep ties to corporate special interests, and full-throated support for Trump policies that are crushing Michiganders with higher costs on everything from gas and groceries to healthcare.

Abdul tore into Rogers for cashing in on his time in Washington:
“The only thing he cares about is his power and going back one more time through the revolving door to make what — 14 million dollars? How many yachts do you own?”
Abdul blasted Rogers for cheering on a war that’s sending Michiganders’ costs soaring:
“The war in Iran — a war that has been cheerled by my opponent since the beginning. He called it a win, win, win. I don’t know about you, but when I go to the gas pump, I don’t feel like I’m winning.”
Abdul torched Rogers for flip-flopping on Trump’s trade war when it became politically inconvenient:
“The reason he’s flip-flopping has nothing to do with policy, nothing to do with your costs. It has everything to do with his sagging poll numbers… He’s doing an ad drinking a Labatt, talking about the Red Wings, pretending he was not for this the entire time. Be serious, my guy.”
Abdul hammered Rogers for putting Big Pharma profits ahead of lower drug prices:
“Weak, cowardly, won’t stand up until his poll numbers drop. This is what you can expect from a guy who is bought off by 5 million from corporations to run his previous campaign, voted to keep your prescription drug prices high 19 times. He has the audacity to do an ad looking at the drug prices in Canada, except he voted four times to keep you from buying prescription drugs from Canada. It’s incoherent.”
Abdul repeatedly steered the debate back to the issues that matter most to Michiganders:
“My opponent is gonna try to make this about him and about me. But in the end, this is about you. This is about whether you can afford your gas, your groceries, and can see a doctor. It’s about whether or not you trust your Senator to stand up for you against Trump.”
Throughout the 60 minute debate, Mike Rogers couldn’t stop lying about Abdul to distract from his dangerous and unpopular agenda:
Rogers repeatedly lied about his and Abdul’s record:
Rogers continues to lie about Abdul even though local reporting has repeatedly shown that Abdul has been consistent about his beliefs while Rogers has misrepresented himself and Abdul. Rogers has been lying since his days in Congress, spreading falsehoods about everything from Iran to the Affordable Care Act.
Rogers repeatedly lied about Abdul’s plan to deliver affordable healthcare to all Americans.
While Abdul has lowered health care costs for small business owners and saved taxpayers millions of dollars as a public health official, Mike Rogers has spread lies about Abdul’s health care plan to hide from his record of voting to keep costs high and make his Big Pharma donors richer. While Abdul “wants the government doing a lot more to help people get health insurance,” Rogers “wants it doing a lot less.”
