NEW AD: El-Sayed Slams Billions Washington Wastes on War in “Stopwatch”

MICHIGAN  –  Today, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign for Senate released a new ad “Stopwatch,” produced by FIGHT Agency. This 15-second spot is part of the campaign’s initial TV buy and will air alongside the 60-second “Chorus” announced yesterday.

Filmed during the height of Trump’s war with Iran, “Stopwatch” highlights the extraordinary speed at which taxpayer dollars are wasted by Washington on wars abroad. Holding a running stopwatch, Abdul hammers the waste of “billions of dollars a day” that should have been invested in Michigan on “schools, roads, factories, and healthcare.” In the 15 seconds it took to film the ad, recent estimates found the war’s cost to American taxpayers as well over $161,000.

The war has already cost Americans an estimated $112 billion – money that should have been invested in lowering costs for families. That $112 billion alone could entirely fund bringing back the Child Tax Credit for a year.

“Stopwatch” forces the question: if Washington can find billions of dollars overnight for war, why can it never seem to find the money to invest in everyday Michiganders?
