Senator Ed Markey Endorses Dr. Abdul El-Sayed for U.S. Senate

MICHIGAN –  Today, Senator Ed Markey announced his endorsement of Dr. Abdul El-Sayed for U.S. Senate. A powerhouse for Bay Staters, progressives, climate activists, and working people in the Senate, Sen. Markey’s record has decades of experience delivering real results for his state and the American people. First elected to the House of Representatives in 1976, Markey has passed laws to prevent coal plant construction, promote the development of fuel-efficient vehicles, break up telecommunications monopolies, and countless other pieces of landmark legislation. Markey has been serving as Massachusetts’ junior senator since 2013.

Sen. Markey is the fifth Senator to endorse Abdul, following Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Ma.), and Sen. Tina Smith (D-Mn.). Abdul has earned the endorsement of several current and former members of the House as well, including Reps.
