U.S. Representative Maxwell Frost Endorses Dr. Abdul El-Sayed for U.S. Senate

MICHIGAN –  Today, Representative Maxwell Frost (FL-10) announced his endorsement of Dr. Abdul El-Sayed for Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat. Frost made history as the first Gen Z member of Congress after winning his election in 2022, and has used his platform effectively to advocate for Medicare for All, environmental protections, and criminal justice reform. A former national organizer with the ACLU and March for Our Lives, Frost’s background in activism has brought tangible results, such as leading the push for Amendment 4 in Florida, which restored voting rights for people with past convictions. As U.S. Representative for Florida’s 10th District, Frost serves parts of Orlando and surrounding areas.

“I’m proud to endorse Abdul El-Sayed for Senate,” said Rep. Frost. “The Senate has been one of the biggest blockades standing between the American people and the bold change they deserve, and that ends when we send Abdul to the U.S. Senate. Together, we are in the fight to get money out of politics, put money back in your pocket, and pass Medicare for All. Flipping this seat means we can finally get things done, and Abdul has my full support.”

“Rep. Maxwell Frost is the voice of his generation in Congress. Every day, he shows up to fight for housing, healthcare, and an economy where young people can thrive,” said Abdul.“He understands the issues working people face in his state and is unwavering in his values, including as a fighter for Medicare for All. Rep. Frost doesn’t back down from a fight for the things we all need and deserve. I’m looking forward to working alongside him in Congress and am so grateful for his endorsement.”

Rep. Frost joins a massive and expanding list of federal office holders backing Abdul. Abdul has received endorsements from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14), Ro Khanna (CA-17), Rashida Tlaib (MI-12), Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), Summer Lee (PA-12), Delia Ramirez (IL-3), Analilia Mejia (NJ-11), Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, the Hon. David Bonior and the Hon. Andy Levin. Beyond members of Congress, Abdul has earned support from over 150 elected officials, advocacy groups, and labor unions, including the UAW, Indivisible, the Working Families Party, National Nurses United, and more.
