MICHIGAN – U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed released the following statement after Vice President JD Vance announced plans today by the Trump administration to strip healthcare coverage from hundreds of thousands more Americans:

“As if sky-high gas prices and groceries we can’t afford weren’t enough, now the Trump administration is doubling down on making healthcare less affordable too.

“Every single day, this administration finds a new way to make life harder for working Americans—and Mike Rogers is right there cheering them on.

“First, they jacked up our premiums by letting ACA subsidies expire. Then, they ripped healthcare away from millions to bankroll tax cuts for billionaires. Now, they’re hiding behind claims of ‘fraud’ to strip coverage from hundreds of thousands more. Fraud is pretending you have the power to go around Congress to get us into wars we can’t get out of or impose tariffs we can’t afford.

“Because of these decisions, Michiganders will continue to lose their healthcare. People will die. And Mike Rogers will continue to rubber-stamp every cruel step along the way.
