MICHIGAN – Last night, MSNOW detailed Mike Rogers’ ever-changing stance on Donald Trump’s illegal war in Iran, highlighting his long time advocacy for the conflict, his dismissive remarks about rising fuel costs, and his last minute flip-flop on the deeply unpopular conflict. On Monday, Rogers stated that “we need to end the war quickly.” But on Tuesday, Mike was back to being full steam ahead on the illegal war, stating that the Trump administration has “done a wonderful job” in Iran.

On The Briefing With Jen Psaki, Psaki covered Mike Rogers’ advocacy for war with Iran, referring to him as a “long time proponent of intervention in Iran” and discussing his support for providing President Trump with unchecked authority from Congress to continue his illegal military operations.

Jen Psaki: Mike Rogers, a long time proponent of intervention in Iran, who is now so intent on distancing himself from this war that he cut a campaign ad saying this: 

Mike Rogers: The war in Iran needs to end and end quickly…

Jen Psaki: That’s quite the message from a guy who just two months ago was saying things like this

ROGERS INTERVIEW CLIP: “Do you think the President should have authorization from Congress to continue the war or potentially start a new one?”

Mike Rogers: “I don’t mind giving the president authority to continue [the war in Iran], you can’t stop in mid-negotiation. I think that would not be good for America.”

On All In With Chris Hayes, Hayes further highlighted Mike Rogers’ hypocrisy, pointing to his dismissive comments from the beginning of the war in Iran on fuel costs associated with the conflict.

Chris Hayes: Mike Rogers has long called for war with Iran and even gave this dismissive answer on the war’s impact on gas prices back when it was launched in March:

Mike Rogers: “You’ll get your oil, because we’re going to pump our oil right here in America, and we got plenty… We’re gonna be fine, we got plenty of oil.”

All this comes as Mike Rogers has yet again flipped his stance on the war in Iran. Just last night, on NewsMax, Rogers qualified his early call to end the war “quickly,” adding the condition that we can only end the conflict once the nuclear threat has been curbed.
